Morning and Evening Walk Ups to Meditation Garden

Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland which is usually 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).

during ELVIS WEEK 2018

Elvis Week morning
walk ups will be from 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. on August 10-15 and from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on August 17-19. Morning walk ups may not be available on August 16 due to the Candlelight Vigil. For morning walk-ups, guests must exit the mansion grounds before Graceland tours begin.

Elvis Week evening walk ups will be from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 10-14 and August 16-18. Evening walk-ups will not be available the night of August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

Candlelight Vigil

August 15, 2018 at 8:30 P.M. at the Graceland Front Gate
After an opening ceremony at the Gates of Graceland, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis' grave and graves of the Presley family and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary of Elvis' passing. Security check points will be in place to access the street in front of Graceland Mansion. A Property Pass will be required to enter the procession line up to Meditation Garden. For those of you unable to attend it is usually broadcast on the Graceland webcam.

The above information is shared because fans have asked me specifically about when they can view the grave of Elvis A. Presley. The family graves are also available during the year during the morning walk-ups and as a part of a Graceland Tour. Information is from graceland.com

~ E was one of my nicknames in High School.

~ ER was another one of my nicknames in High School.

I was advised by one of Gerald J. Elander's coworkers, after Gerald's funeral to start pronouncing my last name EL-and-ER. I asked him - "How do you know about that?" He explained that he had worked with Gerald. I said, "The phone calls..." He nodded his head, yes.

To my knowledge Gerald always pronounced his last name E-land-er and so have the other Elanders that I have met. See also: Elanders.com
